Honeybee Twirlers was founded in Round Rock, Texas, with a mission to grow the sport of baton twirling and provide an inviting space where children can build confidence through movement. Located in North Austin, our studio offers a variety of youth programs in baton twirling, cheer, and dance for all ages and experience levels.

Meet Coach & Founder Sara Rudin

A Lifelong Love of Twirling

Sara Rudin’s passion for baton twirling began over 15 years ago—and it hasn’t slowed down since. As a former captain of the University of Arizona Twirling Line (2006–2007), she knows what it means to lead with both skill and heart. Today, she brings that same energy and expertise to every class, coaching students of all ages—from first-time twirlers to seasoned competitors.

Beyond the studio, Sara is a respected baton judge and a trusted mentor to fellow directors, especially in the areas of competition planning and technology. Her dedication goes far beyond teaching routines—she’s building a vibrant, inclusive community where twirlers can thrive, grow, and shine.

We offer a variety of classes to fit every twirler’s needs and goals:

Parade & Fundamentals Classes – Perfect for beginners and those building foundational twirling skills. Students are invited to join fun local performances and parades.
Heart of Texas Team – For twirlers ages 8+, all skill levels welcome. This competitive team focuses on group routines, competitions, and public performances.
Online Learning – Learn twirling on your own schedule! Purchase a monthly pass to access on-demand lessons, join live sessions, or schedule private virtual coaching.
Private Lessons – Personalized instruction tailored to your goals. Contact us to find the right fit.

Do I Have to Compete?

Not at all! Whether you're twirling for fun, fitness, or performance—we meet you where you are. We’ll support your goals with the right program, whether you want to compete right away or never step into a contest.

Do You Teach More Than Baton Twirling?

Yes! Private lessons can include a variety of performance arts:

Yes! We host exciting baton twirling, dance, and cheer camps throughout June and July in Georgetown, TX, and Round Rock ISD.

To measure your baton, stretch your non-dominant arm to the side and measure from the middle of your back to your fingertip.

Jazz Shoes
Suggested brands: Capezio, Bloch, Weissman (or shop Amazon for affordable options). Any color is fine for practice.

Practice Wear
Twirlers should wear leggings, shorts, or athletic pants—NO jeans—and fitted tops to prevent batons from getting caught. We also offer Honeybee-branded practice gear. Contact us to order!

Do Students Participate in a Recital?

Yes! Recitals typically take place at the end of our 12-week spring and fall sessions and may include live performances at local venues.

Am I Too Old to Twirl?

Absolutely not! We believe twirling is for everyone—from toddlers to seniors. If you have the passion, we have the program.
